It’s been a while since our last announcement and we have had a lot of changes coming into play for Los Santos County. We would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday as it quickly approaches! This announcement is an important step towards the future of Los Santos County as we’re switching our multiplayer client to alt:V Multiplayer. AltV offers us some new and improved features of which we will go over briefly.
We know some of you may not like the platform change, however, we encourage you to download the client (beta version) and try it out yourself. The reason we’re switching to another client is due to the lack of updates from RAGE Multiplayer, among another things. We believe that when you’re playing on a server that you shouldn’t be battling with sync issues, rather you should be enjoying your role play with new features and an overall better experience.
Before you guys panic, thinking “This server is never releasing!”, “What about the old script???” or something similar; Don’t worry! This will not effect our server. Our entire game mode is being ported over to the new client, everything should be done by this weekend! So no, we are not "restarting" our development. Everything is still being used, as a matter of fact the new client comes with a lot of reworked and redesigned scripts. We have overhauled the user-interfaces to a more modernized/sleek look. As well as improved upon misc code for server stability optimization. AltV comes with many benefits as opposed too RAGE. AltV offers a much more stable and sync-friendly experience you can find more information as well as download their client on their website by clicking HERE.
Before we move onto the next part, we think this video below can demonstrate to you the sync in the client. In the video you will see the following; pits, shootouts, fire sync, towing, trailers, drivebying, and small details like flashlights. We really encourage you to try out the client before losing hope.
We’ve seen the suggestions you have been making on our Discord and we are very thankful for our influx in community members and suggestions. With that said, we’d want to retain those suggestions and potentially implement them into the server. As we constantly communicate through our discord channel, we tend to lose track of the suggestions made and we don’t want that. We want to assure that player’s participation and creative ideas are given an opportunity for discussion. With that, we hope that members of the community post their suggestions on the forum. Here at Los Santos County, players are our priority so it’s especially important that we listen and mold the server around our players.
Congratulations to those who were selected as well as those promoted! For those that were not selected, we thank you for your interest, do not feel discouraged from reapplying in the near future! New Testers are asked to contact a member of Management to be added to their new roles.
I'm happy to see it official that we are stepping officially into Alt:V.
I've also watched many videos from Stuyk on it and believe it is the superior platform in terms of syncing and features - infact RAGE has alot of catch-up on. Plus Alt:V offers individual servers security from what I'm told, so that's additionally great if anything. I personally hope things continue smoothly and we can see a launch of some sort soon. within the early quarter of this year.
Congrats to all promoted/new staff members and happy holidays to all.
