We hope that everyone is staying safe through the pandemic and healthy. The team at Los Santos County have been working towards getting a lot of things finalized and polished as we move closer to our future release date. We have finalized most of the in-game rules and adjusted them from what we had previously to cater them towards what we decided on as a team, so we recommend that you head over to check out the server rules to get yourself familiar with them for the future.
Faction Management has been working on a lot of faction related topics, there will be an update to the rules and guidelines surrounding factions, and that will be addressed very soon. We apologize with the delay in the newsletter going out previous months but we were set back due to unseen circumstances.
Transparency and Los Santos County — (@Pointless)
Transparency, a word that has been tossed around heavily the past months. This is something we have tried our best to maintain. Have we done the best job at doing so? No, I don't believe we have so in hopes to give everyone some background on what exactly Los Santos County has been through and is currently going through I'll take some time and explain the communities timeline of events.
December 2018 — Bradley, Aero, and myself decide upon starting our own community, frustrated with what options were offered for Grand Theft Auto 5 roleplay servers, Los Santos County is born. When this journey started we had a paid developer, I wont disclose his name, however, in short for the first 4-5 months of the servers life it was essentially wasted time. Said developer was paid (very well at that) and his progress was slow, his communication with us (management) was essentially nonexistent and after these short few months, he vanished without warning, leaving us with a bare bones script that was subpar quality at best.
June 2019 — A fair amount of work has been completed thus far, we had two new additions to our Development team, bringing on Ze and Kar. Both friends of Bradley who dedicated their time to assist us in progressing and testing key features to the server. At this time we have core features such as: General roleplay commands, bare administrative features, a bare bones tester system, the start to our property system, etc. Corello also joins us at this time as our web developer and begins working on the User Control Panel.
December 2019 — This was a big month for us, one of the biggest changes to come to our server would occur. We made the decision to change our multiplayer platform from Rage Multiplayer to alt:V. This was no small task, it involved entirely adapting the preexisting server code to fit the structure of the new multiplayer platform of alt:V. Why would we do something like this that slowed our progress so drastically? alt:V is a much more stable version of Rage Multiplayer. Player synchronization is incomparable. It was a night and day difference. We wanted to be able to offer our community the best of the best. After a period of time testing in a server with our current staff team, we had made a group decision that we would take the time to switch to alt:V as it would be worth it in the long run.
January 2020 — The server is ported over from Rage Multiplayer to alt:V and development resumes as per normal. Corello has major/core features of the User Control panel functioning and up and running on a test branch.
Present Date — You can read what's left to do in the Server Development post on what's left to do.

Throughout the past months (January and February) we’ve been quiet and not posting teasers as much due to reasons. We apologize for not posting the teasers but we can assure you that we’re currently developing and working hard on the script. We’ve begun to fill our Server Development section with the scripts and their commands. I’d like to thank everyone who has helped spend time writing those and taking time to write them.
Moving forward, throughout the new year, we’ve been working on core features and working on aspects that improve the script itself. Performance is an important factor for us and we’ve been keeping that in order to make sure that everything is optimized for a launch. The script is in an excellent state and there aren't many bugs. On December 21st, 2020 we started our second testing cycle which tested the essential scripts and numerous fixes have been pushed since that testing cycle.
One of the main complaints with the creator was that the location was too dark and you couldn’t see the customizations. We’ve updated the creator location and squashed some bugs with the creator. You can read the full documentation here.
Complex & Apartment System
This isn’t something that’s complex but it has some essential features from the main housing system. The complex system allows us to create custom interiors from scratch and have apartments inside. You can see some of the custom complexes that have been teased in our teaser channel on Discord. Similar to the other ones you’ve seen in other communities. You can read the full documentation here.
We’ve begun to work on script jobs and this job was something that needed improvements. The uber/taxi job has gotten a new user interface that's cleaner and the fare time has been adjusted. The fare cost will now be every ten seconds instead of every five seconds. Documentation on this job will be available soon.
Mechanic job is similar to other servers. You must request from the person to work on their personal vehicle. Mechanics can fix the engine, body, tires and as well change your vehicle color. The player must approve the work request and they’ll have five minutes to complete their work on the vehicle. Mechanics also have the ability to tow your vehicle if it breaks down. Please keep in mind this job isn’t finalized yet, there will be more to come down the road. Documentation on this job will be available soon.
The development team has been working with the Modding Team to implement clothing, environment mods and other various things to the server. Now you’re probably asking what’s the hold up or what’s left to do for the server to fully launch. Down below are the list of items left todo;
Phone System (in progress)
Car Dealership (in progress)
Stores (in progress)
Chopshop (in progress)
Trucking Job (not complete yet)
Those are the items currently on the task list to complete and then we just have to finalize everything. We know you’re eager to play, as so are we but we ask for your patience because we don’t want to launch with an incomplete script. I don’t have an estimated time of when a launch will be but we’re hoping to have this as soon as possible.

Property Management has been looking into ways to providing housing for players in a cheap manner while still maintaining role play and economical value. With this in mind, the implementation of apartment complexes with proper interiors is to come within our role play world in Los Santos County. Ranging from your normal civilians to faction apartment complexes, there will be room and change in scenery due to members of the staff team who took time to map. Special thanks once again to @Cranky@Yahya@Audi.@slim. As progression is constantly made daily on the server, Property Management is planning and working with staff team members to provide a smooth initial release. Our goals upon release are to provide users a proper foundation to build on their role play and solidify their newly founded character. With this in mind, upon server release, Property Management is going to aid in providing illegal and legal factions property reasonable real estate. As of the present day, Property Management is working towards the implementation of player jobs and the future addition of houses across the map.

Faction Management has been mostly revisiting their Rules of Engagement along with making sure other rules set in place are easier for the masses to understand with minimal possible loopholes for people to attempt when trying to bend rules. The rules are still being finalized, making sure everything is 100% with the whole team agreeing on it. The next step is finalizing legal regulations but that process is quicker than illegal.
The interactive map is something we spoke about earlier in other updates is one of the next big things we are working on. It will be an interactive that will be updated on the regularly by Faction Management when it comes to turf, being heavily observed in order for those factions to keep claim to their "claimed" turf. There will be no names on the turf map either with only shaded areas to keep things strictly In Character and prevent any metagame sort of metagame outside the game. Faction Management will have a better, more interactive turf map that will also be updated that will show every faction's claimed turf, names and whatever else info we need to keep track of factions.
Faction Management Public is also in the works and we aim to open that up a couple of weeks into the server's release once faction stabilizes and the server's flow of roleplayers getting familiar with the script and atmosphere along with the staff to see how we as FM will begin handling gun/drug distribution and strawmen being put in place.
Tester Team & Staff Update
I would like to formally congratulate @Schleich on his new position as Head of Testers, although Schleich has been unofficially working on tester related activities over the past month or so, his position was finalized just recently as he has accepted the responsibility of heading our Tester team, this being said; any and all Tester related questions, comments and concerns can now be directed to @Schleich via forum direct message or a personal message on our discord. Tester Applications will continue to be submitted by using the "Apply For Tester" button provided in the Tester information topic (Which can be found by CLICKING HERE) or by clicking the button provided below.
As always, we thank you for tuning in our announcement! We look forward to returning with another announcement in the near future, we’ve got an abundant amount in the works in terms of development that we hope we are able to share with you in the near future!
